
Rev. Frederick August Bischoff
Pastor Bischoff was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 16, 1955 to Ellsworth (Bud) and Beridella (Bea) Bischoff. He was baptized into the name of the Triune God on September 11, 1955 at Layton Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. He was confirmed on June 1, 1969 at Benediction Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
In the late summer of 1969 he entered Concordia High School (an all-male pastoral prep school), on the campus of Concordia Junior College, Milwaukee (now called Concordia University, Wisconsin, and located in Mequon Wisconsin). In 1973 he graduated from high school and entered Concordia Junior College where he received his Associate of Arts degree in 1975. In the fall of that year he entered Concordia Senior College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977.
In December of 1976, while in his final year at Concordia Senior College, he married Lori nee’ Schoening, at Benediction Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the congregation where they met.
In the fall of 1977 Pastor Bischoff entered Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He served his vicarage (1979-1980) at Zion Lutheran Church in Beecher, Illinois. Returning to Concordia Theological Seminary in the summer of 1980, he completed his studies and earned his Master of Divinity degree, with his major in Systematic Theology, in the spring of 1981.
Pastor Bischoff was Ordained and Installed into the Holy Ministry on July 19, 1981 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hardin, Montana. He served the dual parishes of Redeemer and St. John Lutheran Church (St. Xavier, Montana). During this time he also served on the Montana District’s Indian Ministry Committee.
In August of 1982 Pastor and Lori were blessed with a son, Philip Alexander.
In the summer of 1983 Pastor Bischoff received a call to serve as pastor of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waterford, Wisconsin, where he has served for the past 25 years.
In addition to serving the people of St. Peter’s, Pastor Bischoff has served the South Wisconsin District as a Circuit Counselor, and is presently serving as the Second Vice-President of the South Wisconsin District. He also sits on the district Committee for Constitutional Matters.
